we believe in the gospel of His death and resurrection

The word ‘gospel’ simply means the ‘good message’. In the four gospels in the Bible (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) the good news of the birth, life, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is told.
He died for you
This description had a specific meaning. In the Old Testament of the Bible God had used animal sacrifice as a means of teaching people about the consequence of sin. The Bible tells us that we have all sinned (Romans 3:23). Sin always results in death (Romans 6:23). In the Old Testament, God allowed the death of animals to be a temporary substitute for this death.
However, this animal sacrifice did not solve the underlying problem. Paul the Apostle explained (Hebrews 10) that animal sacrifice was not sufficient to take away sin.
God had ordained a perfect sacrifice, one that would be sufficient for all mankind for those that accepted it. That sacrifice was Jesus Himself.
Because all have sinned, and sin always leads to death, we have a great need for a Saviour. Jesus is that Saviour. He died on behalf every human being, including you.
He rose from the dead
He is risen…
The Bible tells us that the Holy Spirit raised Jesus from the dead (Romans 8:11).
This same Spirit must also live in each one of us.
