I vividly remember when I was a young child that my dad (Pastor Lloyd) always had his Bible open on his office desk. It seemed that this book was a constant companion in his life, a source of inspiration, a reference point on how to deal with just about anything. It was like all the other books that filled his shelves were just ornaments – but this book was very special.

For years the image of an open, well‑worn, book full of biro comments and underlined passages held a profound fascination for me. At the age of eleven I was baptised and received the Holy Spirit! It was then that I began to understand why this book was unique – it was the Word of God! It was more than special! There are so many who choose to discredit the Holy Bible; it’s origins, it’s alleged contradictions, it’s predictions, it’s time-lines. To really have any hope of seeing it for what it is – you really need to become qualified to read it!

As iron sharpens iron so does inspiration require the inspired (Spirit-filled)! There is some great information contained in these pages of this Voice of Revival – especially relating to the fact that this year is the 400th anniversary of the King James Version of the Bible. How fortuitous it is for us that the Bible is readily available and so easily embraced.

Our editors have concentrated on bringing you some of the “inspired” thoughts that came from this year’s convention of the same name.

We focus on the origins of the Revival Centres – those that have gone before us; those that were inspired by their personal experience of salvation; and the desire to see others receive the same life-changing revelation of the Holy Ghost.

Whilst we can draw inspiration from the early days of “our” work, it is important that we don’t develop what I call a “rear-vision”. It’s easy to look at the past and reminisce about how inspiring things were THEN! The Word of God clearly declares “where there is no vision, the people perish”. God’s people must be full of vision NOW!
