The Hansel and gretel cake which my wife bought in the mission fund auction and we shared at the break the next dayat the end was yummy I liked the rocks on the path which were candy coated chocolate Green gummy grass and fruit sticks on the chimney Cake was good too!

I particularly liked the first one. A contemporary fusion of brightly coloured “food” objects reminiscent of the Hansel and Gretel story – a highly engaging outside speaking of something darker within (chocolate perhaps?). While some consider the use of m&ms de rigeur for such works, the artist has chosen boldly to link back to more traditional values through the use of smarties and what appear to be black jelly beans.

The clash of this design with what at first appears to be a goblet, but on closer inspection could be a medicine-measuring cup completes an outwardly happy scene that, on further reflection, reveals cross-currents of doom.

That the mezzanine floor of the Brisbane Revival Centre was able to snare such an outstanding piece in the same year as that other cathedral to the arts, Brisbane’s gallery of modern art (GOMA) is celebrating it’s fifth year, is truly a coup.

Well done Brisbane RCI.

Dear pastor simon,am so sorry for tha great loss of your father,beloved pastor Lloyd.though have never met him personally but the death touched me so much having met you in kenya 1997.with pastor victor.you realy inspired me pastor.there arent much i can possibly say,but your dad is just asleep for ashort while.To live is christ, to die is gain.Take heart.we r very sorry.

Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! 2010 years ago, it pleased the Lord to see Jesus crucified on the tree (1saiah 53.10) so that 2000 years and beyond to our current generation, people from far out regions will fulfill the the salvation requirement,such as when our brethren in Nepal will be saved at this time. The light is conquering the dark, a great light indeed!
Praise the Lord, my soul, praise his mighty name, shout his name from treetops, mountains, valleys where ever, east,west,north and south for the great feast on the Lord’s day.

Wish we were there again this year. Weather looked great. Hope to catch up with the saints in Coffs real soon, probably in July. I’ve been working in Bamaga on the Cape York and have some great stories to share about the spreading the Word of God to the remote indigenous communities that I work in. Sue is in Mt Isa and is joining me here in a couple of weeks until the end of June. Coffs is always in my thoughts.
