It was held at Melbourne's Box Hill hall this year (with hired chairs, and tents and special parking and people everywhere).

The theme was provocative and direct

Much more intimate than other venues
(some even called it squashy, but in a good way...)

The music was hot gospel and cool jazz at the same time...

Plenty to smile about during choruses

International flavour and strong melodies from Papua New Guinea

The Nipa Assembly got started because a man whose name is Kole was healed by the Power of God and because of that miracle, approx 18 months ago built an assembly hall and asked for help to get the Gospel out to the community.

In the middle of May 2010, over 3,000 people gathered in the marketplace to hear the gospel being preached. The end result was a new hall opening and 38 people baptised and Spirit filled.

My traveling companion was Kerry Daley from Coffs Harbour, his 2nd trip into the country. We then moved onto Mount Hagen where fellowship and leadership meetings were conducted. Preparations had also been made for us to travel into a remote area of the Madang Province called Simbai Station.

A work had begun a few years back in villages surrounding Simbai Station. Many miracles were happening in the area and numbers increased, and an invitation was sent for me to attend and conduct a leadership training meeting. In a small plane we took off from Mt Hagen and after 20mins flying (or 4 days of walking), we arrived at Simbai on a small grass airstrip nestled between 2 mountain ranges. From the air it looked like a great place to visit, and on the ground it turned out to be one on the most exciting welcomes I have ever received in Papua New Guinea. Over 200 of the saints from the area had gathered at the airstrip to say hello and welcome us to this place. Many of the townsfolk also came out to see what was happening.

After fellowship and a marketplace outreach, 10 people were baptised and received the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.

Our next place of call was Lae, the 2nd major town in PNG. Here we had fellowship, outreaching and a leadership meeting plus more baptisms. Lae is to be one of the venues for the Youth National Rally in 2011.

Port Moresby was our last port of call before flying back to Australia. It is always nice to finish a trip by visiting the saints in the capital, where 2 more people were baptised. This brings a total of 53 people who have heard the word and acted upon it - may their walk in the Lord be a prosperous one as they learn to put their trust in the Lord.

I have had many trips to PNG, and this has to be one that is right up there with the best.

Darcy Ryan

Our welcome to Nipa

First baptisms in Nipa

More baptisms in Nipa

A lady's home

Mount Hagen combined meeting

Our small plane to Simbai Station

Baptisms in Simbai Station

Band at baptisms - look where they are standing

The boys had to eat

A new convert is spoken to after baptism

Kerry and Mary bringing an item at outreach - Simbai

Our welcome to Lae

Keeping in touch with Australia

Some of the children from Port Moresby

Baptism in the Baltic

Hello from the Saints in Poland. At Easter all the Polish Saints gathered together here in Ustka/Slupsk near the Baltic Sea where most of us live. We had our brethren from Zielona Gora (400km away from Slupsk) and our brethren from Gdansk (150km away from Slupsk) with us.

The highlight of the meeting was a baptism. A man called Andrzej came along to our meeting two weeks before Easter. One of us had given him a leaflet a year before he came for the first time. Andrzej was really brave and got baptised in the 6 degrees cold water of the Baltic Sea and received the Holy Spirit straight after the baptism, when we all prayed with him at the beach.

Please keep him and our work here in your prayers. God bless, Pastor Konrad and Lucia

That's right, 6 degrees in the Baltic Sea
but filled with the Holy Spirit nevertheless

Meetings are held at Banjor (Lower Virginia), Sawmill (Bomi County), Royseville (Bougbeh) and Parker Corner (Dudu Town).

People are happy to come to our meetings to hear the gospel being preached faithfully and we are seeing people being healed by the Power of God. They go on to be baptised in water by full immersion and receive the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. People's lives are being changed daily.

We still have our challenges as we establish our meeting venues. The rainy season can cause us some problems as we don’t have permanent halls for our meetings. We are using makeshift premises at present. We trust in the Lord and know he will provide for us as we grow in Him.

A special thank you goes to our main centres in Australia who have been assisting us as we bring God's good news to this nation.

In January this year my wife Christina, had our fourth child, named David.
Pastor Paul Zawolo
RCI Liberia (+23177921732)

Christina and Paul with Amanda and Emmanuel in back row

David - Born January 2010

Warialda Outreach

In a town called Warialda near Moree in Northwest NSW, a group of Saints drove just over 5 hours from Brisbane and the Gold Coast to bring the Gospel to the folk of this country town.

Many testimonies, items and ministry happened over this week-end with this being the 2nd meeting held in the town. The rally theme was “..And greater works than these shall he do..”(Jn 14:12). 52 of us attended and we had visitors come and go everyday.

We had great fellowship, as there was wonderful singing, prayer sessions, testimonies and we went witnessing in the vicinity.

4 men and 1 lady received the Holy Spirit speaking in tongues on the very last day of our rally. There are 12 Aussies and 1 Kiwi who have come to Papua New Guinea to bring support to our PNG brothers and sisters.

Items, testimonies, singing, inspired ministry, prayer and one new convert. This is only the first day of the rally.

More to come as there is another 2 days of the rally, before 7 of the Aussies are about to walk the Kokoda Track - love to see the after-walk photo.

REPORT ON DAYS TWO & THREE (See Photos below)

Days 2 and 3 were repeats of the first day, however there were another 9 people baptised which became highlights of each day.

Visiting pastors brought the Word, testimonies and items. Overall the rally was a great success and the Church is looking forward to the future as more rallies are planned.

After the rally, the 7 saints from Australia prepared themselves for the Kokoda Track walk. I cannot report on their experiences as at this stage they are somewhere on the track.

Michael, Susan, Annette, Donna and myself headed down to beautiful Milne Bay where we had fellowship with the saints from Waga Waga and Apahuhuna.

A most enjoyable time with the meeting and refreshments afterwards. To end the day there was one more baptism with a pukpuk (crocodile) swimming close by. It was the quickest baptism I have ever seen in PNG.

Aussies and a Kiwi on stage bringing an item

Sisters feeding the visiting PNG Saints

Stage singers at the first chorus session

Six of the seven saints who will walk the Kokoda Track - Missing from Photo - Les Eakin.
(All have completed the Kokoda Track walk and are safe and sound back in Australia - they all having Bragging Rights)

DAY 2 and 3 - MILNE BAY

Sunday Communion Meeting

One of the many baptisms

Welcome to Milne Bay

Greeting at Apahuhuna

Annette and Donna wanted to ride in the back - PNG style

Apahuhuna Item

Beautiful Milne Bay
A Scene of Absolute Devastation

A couple of days ago, Pastor Simon Longfield had the opportunity to venture up to Kinglake with Dan and Magee, who have lost their home in the Victorian fires. He reports:

On the journey up the mountain the sight of charcoaled forests, burnt-out vehicles, twisted roofs, was sobering!

Being an ex-Kinglaker, I had a lump in my throat as we approached our old house - gulp! Absolute devastation!

It's very still, there are no birds, no leaves rustling on the trees, no noise, no shade - it's unbelievable!

As reported previously, the three RCI families who lost their homes, are well catered for by the community aid and the RCI family as well.

As for Dan and Magee, the pics below tell the story ... not one thing is salvageable - everything reduced to ash!

Praise the Lord they are safe and are well. God bless these families as they re-build!

Pray for them!

Saturday 7 February was Melbourne's hottest day ever recorded (46.4 celsius or 115.5 fahrenheit) with strong gusty hot northerly winds providing what has been described as the worst fire conditions in Victoria's history since European settlement.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected within the community.

Some of you are asking for the status of Revival Centres members:

Reports so far are that 6 people (one family) in the Kinglake area are safe; although they have lost their home. An older lady in the Kinglake area has lost her unit, but is safe.

One couple in Chum Creek, near Healesville, have lost their home, but are safe themselves. The other family near Healesville are also all safe and have come through relatively unscathed - although the flames came up to their house, destroying their garden (they had already evacuated by the time of the fire). They are now back home, without power, with several near-neighbour's houses destroyed around them.

Others in the Warburton, Hurstbridge, Diamond Creek and Whittlesea areas are also all reported as safe.

All assembly members in Bendigo are safe.

From the Morwell assembly, it is reported that assembly members in Drouin, Upper Erica, Moondarra, and Currajong are all safe, although again flames came right up to houses in some instances.

All RCI members who are CFA volunteers and who have been involved in fighting the fires are also all safe.

Also, see later report on this website.

How to Sell a Lawnmower, In Season or Out

Saturday, January 31, 2009, Ulverstone Waterslide Day for the saints from Northern Tasmania will be a day to be remembered.
A new name was written down in glory as Carol, (from nearby Sheffield), was baptized and fulfilled the scriptural directive: "Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which

Then, (as you do), the conversation headed towards the Lord, one thing lead to another and Carol was more than happy to attend the following Sunday meeting at Launceston and promptly received the Holy Spirit, speaking in other (unknown) tongues.

Pastors David (facing) and Fred (back-on) help Carol say "goodbye to the old man" under the waters of baptism, praise the Lord!

Sister Heather got the first of many very happy hugs while Frans and Marian look on.

"Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold,

who made the trip to Orford, Tasmania, December 2008 - January 2009.

Some of the 170-180 total brothers and sisters attending.

We were entertained and uplifted by many inspirational items from folks
from many assemblies this particular year. Here are Amber, Mark and Nick

Some saints even went on a 40-minute boat ride across to Maria Island for a day trip.
(This is on the way down to the jetty).

Kerry and the girls made music to the delight of the saints.

Mark, Johnno and Brendan were hilarious with their 'interactive item'. This is how it worked: The music was played with lyrics ONCE, giving the 'willing contestants' Quentin and Micah a clue as to how to participate and then it was their turn to 'just add lyrics'. Talk about being put on the spot!

Now what camp ever went without a SUPPER!!??

The Tasmanian saints were truly
blessed by the attendance of many mainland and international brothers
and sisters who gladly shared testimonies, songs, day-trips, camp duties and all
the associated blessings that go with these.

We hope to see many back
this year!
Hebrews 10:24-25

RCI South Island (NZ) Christmas Camp

Praise the Lord for the opportunities we have to get together and be reminded of the huge calling that we are apart of. This year, or rather last year, the South Island assemblies of New Zealand held their Christmas camp in sunny Hanmer Springs, with brethren making the journey from the 3 local assemblies (Blenheim, Christchurch, Dunedin) and also from as far afield as Melbourne, Ballarat, Dubbo, Newcastle, Coffs Harbour, Sydney, Auckland, Palmerston North, Wellington and even Fiji.

Coming together at camps always makes for an exceptional time. Meeting saints from other assemblies for the first time, as well as catching up with old faithful friends brings to life the great truth about 'iron sharpening iron'.

With warm sunny days, a picture postcard location amongst mountains and forests, plenty of meetings and fellowship to revel in … it was a delightful time. Over the course of a week, we prayed together in the mornings, had loads of great ministry in the meetings, ate meals that filled you to bursting (thanks Rosi!), enjoyed relaxing and chatting together over good coffee, while some went mountain biking and swimming, the ladies enjoyed a high tea at a country café (thanks Emily and the Sydney girls!), while the dads looked after the kids and discussed deep and meaningful topics like … how to lose cricket without crying.

Then there was good golf and bad golf, walking, hiking, standing under waterfalls for the heroic, and of course plenty of raucous hoots of laughter from all ends of the camp! Hope to see you there next Christmas. (Photos, thanks to Abi, Emily, Amanda, Jacqui, Howie & Lynette, Kate and to anyone else whose photos we grabbed off facebook!).

You may well ask "where in the world is Pottsville".

Pottsville is approx 20 mins south of Tweed Head which is just over the Queensland border into NSW. It is a quiet beachside town, with a community hall and a few shops and lots of sunlight (sometimes). This project has taken some time to get to this stage as Pastor Nelson had to go to the assemblies in Mozambique for the funeral of one of their Pastors. Our condolences go out to the family.

While in Mozambique many folk heard the Word of God which resulted in 12 people being baptised.

Pastor Nelson has sent a special thanks to RCI Sydney for their help in sponsoring this maize mill project.

(Via email from Pastor Nelson)

Pastor Nelson shows the mill

Looking Good

Inside the mill
Preaching the Gospel in China

Recently, Michael and Susan from Brisbane arrived back from China. They report:

At Beijing a young man called Hong Li came to our hotel room. After a short time of prayer he received the Holy Spirit and was baptised in our hotel pool. Kerry from Coffs Harbour met Hong Li on a plane flight between Miami and Los Angeles about 3 years ago when Kerry was on his way to Cali. Since then we had exchanged emails now and then. Just before the Olympics he contacted Kerry advising he was now back in China and wanted to be baptised and to receive the Spirit. Our new brother, Hong Li is now back to his hometown in Yantai, which is an hour's flight from Beijing.

At Beijing we also met up with a Christian group that wants to be associated with RCI. Their pastor, Chen, had come into contact with Dennis from Gosford during a visit to Sydney. We had a good meeting with Pastor Chen and his leaders, and they accepted the encouragement that was offered on many matters that we see in RCI. Robert and Gail from Malaysia were able to join us at that meeting with the leaders, and also the Sunday church meeting the following morning. They held their meetings in a converted 3-bedroom apartment more than 20 floors above ground level - hence they insist that they are not an underground church! We are impressed that they are not afraid to talk about the Lord to their classmates or work colleagues, as most come through personal witnessing.

We also caught up with sister Juedi in Shanghai, who was baptised in Brisbane a number of years ago.

STOP PRESS:
Just spoken to Sabina from Beijing. She told us that they had 12 baptisms at their Sunday meeting today. The portable baptism tank that Dennis (Gosford) brought from Australia has been put to good use. Seven of the people are from the Blind Society of Beijing. They had been visiting the society and witnessing to them over a number of weeks. One actually received the Holy Spirit directly in the baptism "tank". Looks like we will hear a good report from Dennis when he gets home.

Michael Tang

Li Hong-li (Hongli) after his baptism in Beijing - now in Yantai, China

New Group in China (Pastor Chen - white shirt)

Michael & Susan with Robert, Gail & Jodie Lee in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
at meeting in China

Sabina (Beijing), Susan (Brisbane), Hong Li (Yantai)

Italian Summer Camp 2008
