The only question to be asked was: “Which Mums want to own up to the two young heads poking through the curtain?”.

This was the theme of the night as the two teams of Melboune Youngies “Sorted” and “Vision” gathered for a combined team meeting at our Hall in Box Hill. The night was filled with singing, prayer and delving into the scriptures. We heard wonderful encouragement from four of our Youngies that was straight from the Word of God. It is a blessing to know that the church is in safe hands.

We were all reminded to hold fast onto what we have received; that Jesus died for us and that he hears our prayers. After the mini talks, testimonies were shared of how God has worked in our lives this was concluded by off by a rousing hymn and of course an abundant amount of supper.

It was a great night. Praise the Lord.

The area around the hall has become a hive of activity on Saturday mornings. Within a few hundred metres of our hall we now have a large Office Works stationary store, Bunnings Warehouse and a new outlet of the Masters Home Improvements chain. The Car Wash outreach allows us to take advantage of the increased level of traffic in the area.

People are invited into our hall for a coffee and a chat while their vehicles are being washed. This provides us with a great opportunity to tell people about the Lord in a relaxed environment. Many of our visitors live in the general area, have seen our signage and are interested in what we believe as a church. The proceeds from washing cars are used to support the RCI overseas missions which again is a great conversation starter.

The outreach is supported by house meetings and the Melbourne Youngies group. It is a time of fun and fellowship. Many have found that washing cars can be fun particularly when it is for a great cause. Already this year many people have been spoken to and we have seen people baptised and filled with the Holy Spirit as a result of the Car Wash outreach.

When Jesus disciples received the Holy Spirit, they immediately spoke in tongues,(Acts 2v1-4). Chris is looking forward to the same Bible experience.

We have a wonderful message to share, so please come along to a welcoming, friendly meeting and hear more. (Acts 2v37-38). Sunday meetings are 3pm at St John Ambulance Hall, Wellingborough Road, Olney, MK46, Buckinghamshire, and Wednesday evening house meetings are held in Rushden, Northamptonshire.

Freshwater Creek Easter Camp turned out to be a rollicking good time: sunshine, talks, prayer, items, a baptism and wall-to-wall fellowship.

Freshwater Creek is a Revival Centres campsite owned by the Melbourne Assembly, where we gather at Christmas and Easter to have some time together (and sample the local surf and coffee).

The theme of the camp was “… in the Spirit”. We had talks based on walking in the Spirit, being led of the Spirit, that we are alive through the Spirit, being renewed in the Spirit and praying in the Spirit.

A time of re-examination, of pulling aside from everyday distractions and being built up in the Spirit.

The T-Shirts were popular which helped get the theme of the camp out there ‘One Faith One Baptism One God’. Ministry centred around this theme from Abraham declaring One God in a land of many gods to Jesus declaring one way.

Two young men were filled with the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in tongues, praise God!

The sale of t-shirts and the sausage sizzle raised some money for the mission fund. There are still some t-shirts available to purchase.

Evening entertainment was a real variety of fun and music. Here are some pics of the camp, hope to see you there next year.

As it was Alan’s birthday, we all followed on to a Toby carver to celebrate, (any excuse for a good nosh), and this was followed by a birthday cake from from our resident gourmet cake-maker.

That evening we were treated to burgers and salad at our communal dinner, and as the temperature was so “un Melbourne-like”, we had our night meeting under the stars and enjoyed 3 more fantastic talks. On Sunday we started with a pancake breakfast, then our Communion Meeting after which we witnessed a baptism in the pool where the young man received the Holy Spirit on the spot! That afternoon we played an AFL footy match in Torquay at the local oval. The temperature was hovering around 37 degrees which made it an interesting game; however the sea breeze made playing bearable. As the heatwave went on we had a water fight after dinner that made sure heatstroke wasn’t an issue…  On the Monday, some went home while others went to the beach and soaked up the sun. One thing is for sure, we had a great weekend with inspirational talks, great fellowship, yum food, hot weather, ice cream and of course a baptism! Don’t forget to put the Gold Coast Youth Rally in your diaries for 24 January 2014.

In his email he said “the seminar that we had over the week end. It was a wonderful time indeed. Our officers were challenged to defend sound doctrine and to preach the gospel. The young people also had a wonderful time. We had eight baptisms.”

Then, in January 2014 on the Australia Day weekend we will be hosting the bi-annual International RCI Youngies Camp. The camp will start on Friday 24th January going till Monday 27th January This is to be held at Tallebudgera at a camp on the banks of the beautiful Tallebudgera creek and walking distance to Tallebudgera beach! A short walk to the great beach at Burleigh Heads also.

To help with costs, we have started fundraising, first with Dinner on the Deck, a 3 course meal and entertainment. We raised over $300, had visitors from Melbourne and Brisbane, 5 new people and a great night of fellowship! We followed this up with a monster garage sale which raised over $1,000 for the camp and the mission fund. Lets all get together to help as many youngies as possible be at their camp, it is a great time of growth for our youngies and their assemblies! We are hoping to have visitors from all over Australia, as well as many international visitors.

Of course you don’t have to wait for a rally or camp to visit us, we love to have visitors any time!
